Explanation of option in Online Configurator Service

Good day,

Can someone has more information about this option? I am configuring systems with HBA and not with SmartArrays because Im doing Software defined storage with Win2016

792962-B21 - HP Manufacturing FIO Enable HBA Mode Setting - Price: USD1.07

Is this option needed when configuring HBAs and the systems do not have SmartArrays or is it the other way around?

Thanks.

Re: Explanation of option in Online Configurator Service

smart array controller can work in RAID or HBA mode (direct disk access) - this option means HBA mode configuration.

Depending on the configuration you made you need a controller for the disks, for example a smart array.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
