Re: Extend Disk Array Raid5
Hi,
Which Smart Array Controller you are using since it depends upon the smart array controlller. That is called extension of the drive. And you want to extend the last drive that is d:\ drive with new hdd.
Regards,
Prashant S.

Re: Extend Disk Array Raid5
hi julien
if the smart 3200 has current firmware it will do the job.
first extend the logical drive using acu.
this will give you free space on drive 1 in windows disk manager.
you can create a new partition if you want.
if you want to make your D: drive larger, you must download DISKPART.EXE from microsoft or use tools like partition magic.
the ms-tool is free and works fine - but is has a command line interface and you must read the instructions (documentation) first.
i have done this in my proliant trainings dozends of times and it always worked a 100%.
best regards
ernesto
