Extend RAID1 with more disks

Hi,

do you know if there is any way to extend the capacity of a RAID1 system?
I would like to add 2 new harddisks to the array without loosing the information I have now.
Could you please give me any hint?

thanks in advance

Re: Extend RAID1 with more disks

Hi Prashant,

thanks for your fast reply.
The server I want to extend is a ML370.
I would like also to ask you if this server with 2 harddisks with RAID1 it would be possible to move to a RAID5 adding new disks.
What do you think?

thanks in advance

Re: Extend RAID1 with more disks

Thanks again Prashant,

in the questions Imade you I was meaning to make the conversion without loosing the information I have on the disks.
Is that possible?
Or I need to backup the info and then, after the conversion, restore the information.

thanks

Hi,

What ever you do take bakup, it is a server.
But yes while migration there will be not data loss i have tried on my server.

Do take backup before procedding with anything.
