External battery replacement.
we have a server that loses its system config when powered down for any length of time, summise cmos battery requires replacing. we have tried a replacement system board and the settings are held after running system config utils. we fit the new external battery and try to follow the instructions as per the web site posting.
4. Move the jumper on connector E2 from pins 1 and 2 to pins 2 and 3.
at this stage we find the jumper E2 is on the processor board and not the system board and there are no jumpers attached. Is the default for no jumpers? and when fitting a battery one must short pins 2 & 3?
thanks

Re: External battery replacement.
Hello,
Please do not alter any jumper settings on the PROCESSOR board since they relate to different speed of CPUs only. The other jumpers are on the system board itself. Please contact our Tech support at 1-800-652-6672 for further assistance.
