Extra Hot Swap Drive Bays on ML350 G6
Hi,
We have an ML350 G6 runnings SBS2008 that has all its origional 8 SFF hard drive bays full but we need more storage adding.
It has the origional P410i/256 Array card in.
Is it possible to add another drive bay to the above server.
I have been told that you buy this. 507803-B21 but this needs 2 optical bays ?
I would also need this 468406-B21 Sas expander card
Is this correct and if so what about power to new back plane and data to new back plane.
I would appreciate any comments regarding this.
Many thanks in advance.

Re: Extra Hot Swap Drive Bays on ML350 G6
You mount the additional drive cage and connect power.
Then for data you have 2 options, either a sas expansion card for the existing controller or another new controller.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

A thought....what wattage is your power supply? Do you have two installed? If yes then the wattage may not matter.

Hi Many thanks.
Does having 2 PSU increase the wattage, I was under the impression that 1 was reduntant until needed. ?
