Failed GET SENSOR READING, sensor 12 - DL380 G5

Hi

I have a DL380 G5 that has started to reboot itself unexpectedly.

The error in the system event log before the shutdown is as follows

"Failed GET SENSOR READING, sensor 12"

I am thinking that I may have a intermittent hardware error but I am not sure what "Sensor 12" refers to, does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I have a ML350 G5 doing the same. Do not know what Sensor 12 is.

Event log has 2 entries in mine.

"Source=hpqilo2 NetFN 0x4, Command 0x2D timed out".

Then

"Failed GET SENSOR READING, sensor 12"

Hi

I have the same Error Event (GET SENSOR READING....) on a DL 585 G2...and the server boots randomly every few days...in the ILO Log I can find also alerts saying "BMC IPMI Watchdog Timer Timeout: Action=System Power Reset."

Any clue what it could be?

Many Thanks!

I've seen the same, referring to sensor 9. Smartstart says all temp sensors are fine. Updating firmware didn't help. I ended up replacing the system board; no more sensor errors. Would have been nice to get an explanation from HP, though.

I also have a DL 380 G5. It has started (about 5 days ago) to reboot itself unexpectedly (every 1-2 days). The errors in the system event log before the shutdown:
2010-04-16: "Failed GET SENSOR READING, sensor 16"
2010-04-18: "Failed GET SENSOR READING, sensor 10"
2010-04-21: "Failed GET SENSOR READING, sensor 12"

2010-04-19 I updated firmware, but it did't help.

Best option is to have the server scanned with the help of HPS reports.

That will shows the whole and overall picture about the current stats of your system.
