False High Temperature Alarms

Model = BL25P G3 Proliant Blade
Switch Firmware = 3.01
Chasis Firmware = 2.11

Every once in awhile my blades signal a false high temperature alarm. Anyone else having this problem and know of a solution?

Re: False High Temperature Alarms

Hi Michael,

I have come across a similar issue where the Server Blade and Power Management Module Firmware was @ Rev 2.32.

I recommended an upgrade to 2.33 which has resolved the issue with Overheating.

Hope this would help.

Prabhu

Re: False High Temperature Alarms

We also see this error and the upgrade did NOT fix the issue... HP told us to ignore it...

Re: False High Temperature Alarms

Went back and checked, we are at 2.33 and not 2.11 as I believed.

Also did some checking and going to 2.33 on the Chasis Firmware was HP's recommendation months ago and it has not resolved the problem. We got another false alarm last night in this format, bad one second, good one second later. (* An impossibilty *):

May 03 19:01:50 CRIT system: TEMP CAUTION DETECTED!

May 03 19:01:50 CRIT system: TEMP FAULT DETECTED!

May 03 19:01:51 CRIT system: TEMP back to normal
