Hi everyone!
I´m new in this forum and new user in the Proliant servers.
We have a Proliant ML 570 server.
In the front panel I have an alert of Fan Failure, I was investigating and the reason is that the Fan 7 of the power supply is in state "degraded". What is that means??
I have been checked all the fans but I don´t see nothing wrong.
Other question:
Where can I see the model and the generation of my ML 570 server??
Thank you!

Solution
hi,
If the fan is shown as degraded it means that it is not functioning correctly, probably not spinning as fast as it should. If its left unchanged then the server may shutdown as it overheats, unless you have redundancy.
You can tell what generation the server is by a few ways.
Look at the front and get the mart number and search on hp's site this will tell you.
Boot the smart start CD and when this boots it will list the server type in the main configuration screens.
or if you have the management software installed it should tell you from within this
