Fan Failure Detected

Hi,

I've got the msg below:
"1611-I/O Fan (Fan3) Failure Detected"

Until i'll receive my new one, how can I disable this %$#@ to make my server boot up normaly?? (is it in the BIOS? If yes, how can I go in? F10??)

Thank a lot!!!

Re: Fan Failure Detected

Open up the server and find the SW6 bank of switches on the I/O board (4 switches total, right near the edge). For the ML570:

Switch #3 & 4 = ON

If not, make 3 & 4 ON, then let me know if this fixes the POST error preventing booting (hangs at POST, or powers itself off 5 sec after displaying message?)

I am assuming of course that all fans ARE connected ok...

Re: Fan Failure Detected

There are 2 I/O fans in this server, both are hot plug. Looking at the top of the server from the front, the two I/O fans are located on the right, one behind the other. In front of these two fans is a row of 3 hot plug hard drive fans.
Any amber LEDs? Try reseating fans.
