Fan in HP Proliant ML110 G5

Hello,

I upgraded my HP Proliant ML110 G5 to "Systems ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade for HP ProLiant ML110 G5 Servers" (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=0&prodSeriesId=0&swItem=MTX-88855a19cf384e07b3ca617154&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=3) with no problems.

But now, the fan is very noisy and it doesn’t stop as it did before upgrading.
I’d like to know if it’s possible to make it work like it did before: the fan was activated just when the server was restarted and it was stopped after a few seconds. I’ve looked in the BIOS setup but I haven’t found how to do it.

I hope you can help me.

Use the search, this comes up all the time.

You need to update the iLO management firmware as well, even if the iLO board is not fitted.

I installed the file I found in http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=3577708&swItem=MTX-c003654e6340476b8af81d2f3b&prodNameId=3577715&swEnvOID=4024&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=1 and it worked.
