Fan speed on ML330 G6
I've got a ML330 that we're using to test a few applications on ESX. It's all been good up to a few days ago. It was out of action for a couple of week while we were waiting for some drives to arrive. Stuck those in and all of a sudden fan 3 has gone!.
It basically spins up to full speed as soon as the m=machine is turned on and stays there. The other fans seemd to be fine, they spin up and then down to normal speeds. Nothing else has changed other then taking the cover off to put in the new drive cage. No heatlh warnings, tempature is fine, doesn't seem to be any dodgy connections I'm a bit baffled. Anyone have any thought? Straight up bad fan maybe?

Re: Fan speed on ML330 G6
If speed goes down then the software is good.
Too bad that fan 3 is not the same as fan 1 or you could've swapped them around.
Even though it looks fine maybe it's a good idea to reseat the cable of the fan?

Yeah, tried that (repeatedly!) I guess I'll have to get a replacment fan and try it out, I hope that's all it is.
