Firmware Maintenance 7.4 - Expected behavior
- boots
- prints a message 'Initalizing devices, Do NOT REBOOT' ( or something similar )
- drops down to a prompt
Is this the expect behavior of it? Has all the firmware been updated or is the cd not burned correctly?

Re: Firmware Maintenance 7.4 - Expected behavior
See this thread
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=967617
Expected behaviour: you will have GUI window with option to run ROM Update utility, when you run ROM update utility it will scan all your hardware and as result you will see window with all hardware items and their firmware versions. Then you can run firmware update.
Try to burn older version of firmware maintence CD, for example 7.10 version

Maybe it will help

Re: Firmware Maintenance 7.4 - Expected behavior
The question is, does the firmware boot linux to do its job?
Also, does anyone know when the older versions of the firmware cd will be reloaded onto
ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/ZIP

Re: Firmware Maintenance 7.4 - Expected behavior
Firmware maintenance CD 7.xx are Linux based. (SmartStart CD 7.xx too)
HP have some problems with ftp mirroring, so use this for download old Firmware maintenance CD:
ftp://161.114.23.171/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/zip/firmware_maintenance-7.10-0.zip 7.10 version
ftp://161.114.23.171/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/zip/firmware_maintenance-7.20-0.zip 7.20 version
ftp://161.114.23.171/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/zip/firmware_maintenance-7.01-0.zip 7.01 version

Re: Firmware Maintenance 7.4 - Expected behavior
7+ is Linux.
On old servers it can not work properly.

Re: Firmware Maintenance 7.4 - Expected behavior
I did this for 11 old Proliant 1600 servers (see http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=967617), you will do it only for one server...
Maybe somebody from HP will have better suggestion.
