Firmware Maintenance CDROM 8.20 on DL580 G5

I can't seem to run the FW Maintenance CDROM 8.20 on a 2ea DL580 G5 with 128G RAM and 4 CPUs.

I get the black screen after click on loading firmware cdrom.

I tried and F2 nothing.

Tried with 2ea CDROM from 2 diff download.

Anyone knows how I can get around beside removing RAM and CPUs?

hi

what you can do is run the Firmware in the OS itself I have not tested that capability on Linux but I know for sure since I've done you can run the Firmware CD on the OS like running proliant support pack the utility will popuo with a discovery window where you can next next next and after update finishes you just reboot


try that and let me know

you try also this

run the CD in text mode instead of graphical mode by pressing the ESC key when the first screen appears. The CD will then continue booting normally in text mode.

just tested

when you got the screen to select booting from HDD or Firmware CD you press F8 you will be prompted to switch to test mode once there press enter and let is run

Sorry, no luck.

At the screen to select boot from disk or run the firmware update, I pressed F8, nothing. Updown and return work good.

I did remove all PCIe cards (2ea HBAs)

I have similar problem.
During booting DL580G5 from FW8.20 cd the server just stops responding. Tried with different cd`s and downoads.

I'll try it after 5pm.

Yesterday, I downloaded new file and burned new CD. I now have 3 diff CD of 8.2 Non work on DL 580G5 with 64G or 128G.

But each one worked on DL380, DL 360g5 with 16G RAM.

Same Problem here, server has 128 GB Ram.. did the and SOS thing work as expected?
