Firmware Update NOT

When trying to use the intelligent provisioning to update firmware on a Dl385p G8. I select Bios update chose to continue following the warning that the process cannot be cancelled and then i get an error box with just a red circle and red cross. no actual message and then the update screen just sits there with the circle thing going round and round ad infinitum. How do i accomplish a bios update ??
