Firmware Upgrade

Firmware Upgrade

I've recently completed a system erase to load a new Linux O/S on my Proliant 1600.

I understand the new O/S won't install until the firmware is updated.

Can you tell me where I can get the firmware I need and how do I install it since I don't have the O/S installed yet?

Can it be done from the System Configuration Utility?

Thanks.

Re: Firmware Upgrade

If you take the floppy already recommended, cold boot the machine, then let it boot off the floppy, you should be able to just follow the prompts.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: Firmware Upgrade

I got the firmware installed. Now I would like to partition the drives but it doesn't seem to recognize the controller.

The controller is a Smart Array 3200 controller. I have 2-4.3 Gb and 2-9.1 Gb Ultra Wide SCSI drives.

Any ideas?
