Firmware locked - please help
attempted to upgrade an ML570 G1 with the old Compaq non-RBSU rom. When I tried to run the Rom Update I received an error message telling me that the Rom Update was locked and had to reboot to unlock it. I tried this a few times and was unsuccessful

Re: Firmware locked - please help
Trevor,
You need to invoke the Emergency Rom Boot Procedure to get the system back to a working BIOS version.
Download a version of the BIOS from here.
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=uk&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=327425&swItem=MTX-UNITY-I17420&prodNameId=3285477&swEnvOID=181&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=1
Now follow the attached document to invoke the Emergency procedure. Locate the maintenance switch on the peripheral board and set it properly. Follow the instructions and you should be OK once completed and you have set the switches back to their normal positions.
I hope this helps.
Brian
