Another admin is now stating that the firmware now needs to be reinstalled. He's stating that you need to reapply the firmware after the OS install which is not per my understaing of a firmware update.
Can someone comment on this?

SolutionFirmware usually done in offline mode (boot directly from CD/DVD). The PSP is found on the latest SmartStart DVD and can be accessed through the OS.

From my understanding a firmware update, updates the system Bios, hard drives , etc.. and has nothing to do with the OS.
HP's PSP's update drivers.
