Flashing the firmware on the HP Gigabit MC770 NIC

I have a customer who is insisting that a NIC that we have just replaced had previously been flashed with a firmware upgrade.

I have never flashed a NIC before. Can anyone advise me if it is indeed possible and how to find out the release that is currently on the card.

I haven't either but I did find this. From your title is it an NC7770 by chance?
