Floppy Drive Clicking...

My DL380 G3's floppy drive clicks and lights green every one minute with a 'dzzzzzt' noise, disabled the floppy drive and controller from windows system devices, still clicks !

Normal ??

No, it's not normal. Can you think of any software that is trying to access the floppy every minute? Antivirus software maybe?

Hello Rami,

Do the MSCONFIG to see the Startup Programs & check for any programs which may access it. Else its a H/w failure.(Interestingly !)

how smart of me !!! I didnt even think of inserting a floppy disk to see if its working, never even used it in the past 3 years...

Inserted a couple of empty disks and it was unable to read any, seems defective, i'll just unplug it :)
