Format a Proliant Server
Hi !
I am wanting to format a proliant server.
The only thing is, le keyboard does not boot untill the logon screen under Server 2003.
So of course I can't "press any key to boot from CD"...nor enter the bios.
Does anybody have a solution to this or any ideas ?
Thanks for your help !

Re: Format a Proliant Server
What Keyboard you use PS/2 or USB
Firstly fix Keyboard
Keyboard working only from O/S ?
Not clear for format - Erase Utility ?
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/17918.html
or
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/subscription/ssdownloads.asp
Servers G1 use 5.5
Servers G2 and Up use SS CD 7.x

Re: Format a Proliant Server
Keyboard on PS2...and yes it only "boots" or "starts working" when whole Windows Server 2003 boot is complete and the logon screen has appeared (i.e. Login and pass)
So the keyboard is working...I am typing with it now ;-)
In fact, This is a company server and I have to take all data out of it, reset all users & pass, etc...So I would like to use a fresh install.
Thanks again for your help !

Re: Format a Proliant Server
Where it connected to Chassie or you have RILOE Card? Ilo? (T-Split Cable)
Did you use generic keyboard?
Try second Keyboard?
Clear NVRAM? Check if it works after?
Reset default for BIOS, RILOE?
If you boot to O/S it work would it work if you boot To Smart start CD?
What Generation Server?
