Full length PCI board on DL380 G5

I have a full length older PCI 33MHz board (Brooktrout TR114+P4C). If I get a new HP DL380 G5 server can I fit it in it?

Thanks

This system only contains PCIe and PCI-X slots. Older PCI slots will not work.

Thanks for the reply. Can I fit the PCI card into PCI-X slot. I thought that PCI-X is backward compatible with PCI divces?

well if you ask it is because you already found your server does not have any PCI-X slot if not please open it up if so you can buy a PCI riser cage that will provide you with PCI-X slot that is the optional PCI Riser when you need to install a PCI-X card

Re: Full length PCI board on DL380 G5

PCI-X is IIRC backwards compatible with 3.3V PCI, but not 5.0V PCI. Since you say it is an "older" and 33 MHz board it may be 5.0V.

Wikipedia seems to have a reasonable overview of PCI-X.

I tried a web search for the specs on the board you mention, but nothing I've seen says if it is 3.3 or 5.0V. There are pictures of the cards, and based on those, and the keying chart at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Local_Bus

it looks like the card is 5.0V, but you will need to triple check that.
