GBE2 F-class + OmniSwitch 6848 + VLANS

We have 2 enclosures with bl20 G3 blades en 2 GBE F class interconnects.
We would like to put 2 servers in a VLAN 40.
The VLAN is configured on the Alcatel OmniSwitch 6848 switches and operational.
De blades are uplinked through port 23 and 24 to the backbone. (These ports are tagged on the Core 802.1Q) The servers are on port 13-14-15-16.
Which ports do I have to tag, which ports must be in VLAN 40 and do I need to enable STP on ports or not.
The default gateway is the adress of the core switch
Until now everything is in the default VLAN 1.

Re: GBE2 F-class + OmniSwitch 6848 + VLANS

Found the solution myself:

1: Put the needed server ports in the required VLAN (in my case VLAN 40)
2: Enable tagging on port 23 an 24 (the uplink ports)
3: Enable tagging on port 17 an 18 (the crosslinks between 2 switches in an enclosure)
4: Put port 17, 18, 23, 24 in the required VLAN

In my Case:
Port 1-2-3-4-5-6 (Bay 1-2-3) no tagging + VLAN 1
Port 13-14-15-16 (Bay 7-8) no tagging + VLAN 40
Port 17-18-23-24 (crosslinks + uplinks) tagging + VLAN 1 + VLAN 40

Be shure to set the default gateway to point to your core switch so the ip-routing works!
You cannot join more than one VLAN if tagging insn't enabled. You must enable tagging first if you want to join multiple VLANS!
