This may be a stupid question, but I picked up a DL360 second-hand.
I cannot find anywhere that tells me was Generation it is.
Any tips?

Solution
On the left side of the front of the server where the server screws into the rack you will usually see "G2" or "G3" in white letters.
Alternatively there may be a sticker on the server with a bar code and a model number, something like 337054-001 which you could look up.
I don't have one handy but I think if you have the latest support pack and system management home page installed, you will also see the generation number at the top of the login screen or in it's info once you log in.

Hi,
The G1's are all cream coloured - Compaq called them beige. All others are carbon coloured systems. There should be a label with the model code somewhere.
You can also tell the model by the BIOS firmware code so when it boots up and displays on the screen you will see this code. For example if it says P21 then it's a DL360 G1 model.

P52......G4
P54......G4p
P58......G5
