Getting a dl360 g3 up and running.
Like many people no doubt I managed to pickup an old dl360 g3 machine.
As the machine came with no software or drivers I've installed Suse 11.4 mainly because the drivers page for this machine lists OS's that I cannot seem to find (under stand able as they are old).
Suse 11.4 seems to be working fine and was wondering what drivers/HP software I need to control the machine like the health software that controls those bloody fans ;).
Is there a package like the one one for suse 9 server that will work on suse 11.4? (or does the one for 9 work on 11.4 (non server)).
Any pointers would be great.
cheers
steve

Re: Getting a dl360 g3 up and running.
hpasm rpm - i think it includes hp-health, and a bunch of other utilities. Installs hpasmcli (helpful cli tool)
hp-ilo rpm - module for ilo
hp-openipmi
ipmiutil rpm - open source stuff to control ipmi

Re: Getting a dl360 g3 up and running.
I've downloaded the hpasm.rpm and it went on to
download 250megs worth, the install didn't produce any errors.
But running hpasmcli -s "show"
produces the following error
hpasmcli: error while loading shared libraries: libhpasmintrfc.so.1:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Doing a search on the machine shows no file and I'm failing to find a download for it.
Anyone come across this? ( google brings up not much)
cheers

Re: Getting a dl360 g3 up and running.
I ran hpasm activate and that seems to sorted it out, shows fan running at 12% but they sound the same as startup so not sure it it's really working (i've checked the hardware switch is off)
NX server runs really good though :)
hpasmcli> show fans
