Gig.ethernet problem

I am trying to connect my ProLiant server to a HP2626 1000BaseT-port. Both ends are set to Auto. I can't get a link; on 100BaseT there are no problems.

Any clue?

What proliant server? What nic is in the server? What nic driver are you running? What os?

Re: Gig.ethernet problem

oh...hp2626 should support it.
Try to force the speed on both end. I will always had problems with auto-negotiation

Re: Gig.ethernet problem

The server is a ProLiant DL320. I run RedHat 9.0 on it.

ethtool returns this:

driver: tg3
version: 1.5
firmware-version:
bus-info: 00:05.0 (eth0)
00:06.0 (eth1)

lspci returns this:

00:05.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5702 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 02)
00:06.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5702 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 02)
