Green and Red light Ultra3

I have a dl380 server with 2 mirrored 18GB drives. Server seems to be working fine but both the green and red led on both drives are light. If it was a green light I know the drive is working fine and if a red light I know I have a problem but both are light. What is the problem?

Re: Green and Red light Ultra3

Sounds like the backplane has a problem.
You say you have the Activity led off or flash, Online led and the Fault led, solid, not flashing. Your right Online and Failed indications at the same time.

Try downing the server and reseating everything. unplug and plug all the drives and cables. May be just a bad connection.

Other things:
The amber LED on the front of a storage system illuminates if failed drives are inside.
A POST message lists failed drives whenever the system is restarted, as long as the controller detects at least one functional drive.
ACU represents failed drives with a distinctive icon.
ADU lists all failed drives.

Re: Green and Red light Ultra3

So...Just to recap.
1. Three icons on front of drive.
2. Arrow, disk, and a disk with an X on it.
3. The arrow is SOLID green, the disk is SOLID green, and the disk with the X on it is SOLID red, none are flashing, they are all solid.

Still "Sounds" like a backplane problem???
Wanted to make sure it didn't mean something else.
