H241 with Netapp E-2700
Hello,
we have got a HP H241 HBA in a DL360 Gen9 connected through HD SAS to a Netapp E-2700.
On the Netapp E-2700 we created several volumes and the H241 only sees the first one "LUN 0".
If we change another volume to LUN 0, the H241 sees only that one.
So whatever we try to do, the H241 always only sees LUN 0 and none of the other volumes.
Could someone please help us with this issue?
Newest firmware applied on both devices.
Best Regards

Re: H241 with Netapp E-2700
Hi,
Just make sure all these hardware and firmware are compatible with each other.
DL380 Gen9, H241 and Netapp E2700.
http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/gethtml.aspx?docname=c04346305
HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is compatible with H241 but I could not get any info on E2700 compatibility.
Thank You!
I am a HP employee.

Re: H241 with Netapp E-2700
Hi,
thank you for your answer.
What should I do, I want to use a Netapp E2700 and I want to use a HP Server Gen9.
Both are pretty much standard devices and not some niche products.
For the DL 360 Gen 8 I know exists the H221 controller wich is actually a LSI 9207 that is 100% compatible to Netapp, so I thought newer generations like the H241 should match too.
If you could name me a HP card that would be compatible with Netapp and Gen9 I would be happy, but shouldnt my configuration actually work?
Best Regards

Re: H241 with Netapp E-2700
Same problem with my HP IBM V3700 with HBA HP H241(in a Gen9) always only sees LUN 0 and none of the other volumes.
*No problem witn H221 controller (in a Gen8)... like betterbits !
The problem does not appear to be linked to a particular model (Netapp, IBM, ...)
Newest firmware applied on both devices
Any idea how to fix this problem ?
Thank you

Re: H241 with Netapp E-2700
No! and the H241 latest driver / firmware does not fix the problem ... HP will not help us because it Is IBM hardware.
We tried the HBA SAS Lenovo ThinkServer 8885e 12Gb SAS PCIe Adapter by PMC (with Adaptec chip). It works well and we see all LUNs but there is another problem: there is an error in the cluster validation for my futur Hyper-V environnement (windows server 2012 R2 storage cluster). The driver of 8885e does not seem compatible with Windows storage cluster ... Error message :
The port driver used by the disk does not support clustering. Disk bus type does not support clustering.
We try to find a solution .. not easy. If you find something, please send me a message
Thank you!

Re: H241 with Netapp E-2700
LSI SAS 9207-8e
We needed to change the SAS cables (not the same connectors as H241)
With this setup everything works (Live LUN hot add, Hyper-V failover cluster validation, CSV...)
