HBA for ML370R03

Hi,

I have a ML370R03 server (P/N: 310589-421), and I'd need to add a SCSI U320 HBA.

Actually, the only PCI-X HBA availlable on stock is HP U320 64bit Single Channel SCSI G2 Host Bus Adapter (P/N: 374654-B21).

The problem is that it's a PCI-X 64-Bit/133-MHz, while server, afaik, has PCI-x 64-Bit/100MHz Non-Hot Plug 3.3v slots.

My question is: will the HBA work on my server?
If not, which other HBA may I use (to connect a AH165A autoloader)?

Thanks a lot

Re: HBA for ML370R03

AH165A = HP StorageWorks 1/8 Ultrium G2 Tape Autoloader
Autoloader QuickSpecs: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12630_div/12630_div.HTML

ML370 G3 QuickSpecs: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11450_div/11450_div.HTML

Ultra320 SCSI G2 host bus adapter QuickSpecs
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11943_na/11943_na.html

The adapter is compatible with the autoloader, but it's not listed as compatible with the server. But probably will work as 64-bit/133-MHz PCI-X is compatible with PCI-X 64Bit/100-MHz

Re: HBA for ML370R03

Thanks vcespon,

I am aware of the different characteristic of the three.

My question was what you have answered in the last row.

One more silly question: on the HP site I find it difficult to find quickspecs for retired product (i.e. using the search in the upper right corner usually does not help a lot); is there a smarter way?
