HDD Firmware Update Problem

Hello,

i tried to update the firmware for:
"HP 72GB SAS 2.5 inch 10K rpm DG072BABCE Hard Drive"
the firmware version at the moment is "HPD7".
When i run the firmwarecd it shows me the newest version is "HPDC". But after installing it shows me "succesful" but the HDD is still at version "HPD7" and not "HPDC".

When i look here after firmware for my 72 gb hard disk the newest firmware is "HPD7" ( But Release Dez 2007 ???!?)

for example another "HP 72GB SAS 2.5 inch 10K rpm DG072ABAB3 Hard Drive" has firmware ver. "HPDD" (Realese Sep 2009 !)...

so is this a HP bug ??

regards

Re: HDD Firmware Update Problem

Manuel,
Did you reboot the server after the firmware update? The drive firmware is actually stored on the controller until the next reboot when the controller will actually flash the drive. Until then, the drive will still be running and report that it is at the old firmware version.

Regards.
