HELP !!! Broke my ML370s logical drives
Hi,
After inserting a new drive in my ML370 (contained 2 disks), I ran the Rom-based smartarray utility and joined all my disks in one logical partition - and can't boot anymore from any disk.
Is there any tool on Earth to recover data & disks ??? I can't imagine I'm the first Stupid to have such a problem - so there must be a solution !!! or my boss will fire me out tomorrow...
PLEASE HELP
Desesperate Fred

Re: HELP !!! Broke my ML370s logical drives
Well what it sounds like you did is deleted a RAID1 array and made a RAID5 Array after inserting the 3rd disk. The way to restore your data is from backup tape.
I don't know of any way to revert to a previous Array Configuration.
Do you have a valid backup? Have you called 1-800-COMPAQ for support on this?

Re: HELP !!! Broke my ML370s logical drives
Fred,
THis is kind of late and you are probably already fired. But my guess would be that the original containa boot partition of NT4? Any the OS nolonger likes what you have done to the disk OR the apparent size of the disk does not allow NT to boot because of the location of the boot sectors.
If it was me, I would get a 4th drive and create a new install of the OS. THen you will be able to boot and see your data at least so you can back it up.
