HELP- IDE Hard Drives

Is it possible to run IDE Hard Drives in a Proliant 800 server? (PIII 600). I've tried attaching to the existing IDE controller but had no luck. Server does not recognize the drive. Any help would be appreciated

Hi Larry,

As you have discovered there is not a way to get a PL 800 to boot off a IDE Hard drive ** It can only have an Operating System installed on a SCSI Hard Drive.

The IDE Port is intended for CD-ROM support only.
