Re: HP 320 G5p server SAS to SATA?
but I don't still what you want and about that you added this server does not support SCSI drive so you won't that message
well I can tell you if you bought a server with SAS HDDs you must have a HBA SAS controller or smart array controller which will support the SAS HDDs
usually this server comes with SATA HDDs and the Embedded SATA controller
check which controller your server got and install the OS
basically the difference between SAS and SATA is performance / capacity / price
bye

Re: HP 320 G5p server SAS to SATA?
Dual-Core Intel├В┬о Xeon├В┬о processor E3120 (3.16GHz,
6MB L2 cache, 65 Watts, 1333MHz FSB)
HP 4GB Unbuffered Advanced ECC PC2-6400 DDR
4x1GB Memory
Integrated Intel├В┬о 82801GR Serial ATA Host Controller
HP 2-Bay Drive Cage (1U)
HP 300GB Hot Plug 3.5 SAS 15,000 rpm Hard Drive
HP 300GB Hot Plug 3.5 SAS 15,000 rpm Hard Drive
HP Smart Array E200/128 BBWC Controller
Embedded NC326i Dual Port Gigabit Server Adapter
Says software can't be loaded on a server with SCSI drives. Can I change the HD's out fron SAS to SATA drives. I should have ordered it with SATA drives...however I never dreamed the software wouldn't support SCSI drives.
