HP Automatic Restart, server 2003 DL380

Does this have any automatic restart features besides the one included in Windows.

The server keeps restarting, and I am finding a STOP error in the event viewer, but no blue screen is coming up.

System Failuer: Stop Error 0x805000f
Event ID: 1076

Re: HP Automatic Restart, server 2003 DL380

Hi Frank,

Depending upon the specific Proliant DL380 Generation series (G2, G5, etc..), it has Automatic Server Recovery (ASR) in BIOS, which can be configured.

See this document:

http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c01158873тМй=en&cc=us&taskId=101&prodSeriesId=316529&prodTypeId=15351

You'll need to know your specific Proliant Gx model and then check the BIOS version to see if any updates or advisories have been posted.

Also see the Proliant Troublshooting Guide:

Hope this helps.

Re: HP Automatic Restart, server 2003 DL380

Hi Frank,

DL380 Generation 1 Drivers and Firmware for W2003:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=342841&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=254889&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1005

If you have something other than the first generation then these won't work for your system. Just locate the correct server series here:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Product.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=15351&prodCatId=241435

Re: HP Automatic Restart, server 2003 DL380

Hi Frank,

Disable ASR and then look at the logs. If it won't stay up, then use iLO to look at the IML logs. iLO will function without the server being booted. These are NVRAM hardware logs.

Best Regards,
