HP Blade AC redundancy issue.

Hi,

We are using following hardware,

2 x 3U Power Supplies
2 x Dual Power Input Kits
2 x Mini Bus Bars
2 x Enhanced Enclosures

We understand that Feed A supplies Power to Blades 1 - 4 and Feed B Supplys Power to Blades 5 - 8 and the Feeds A & B Supply redunadant Power to the A & B RJ45 & Fibre Passthrough Modules.

We have crossed the AC feeds (A and B) supplying power to the 3U power supplies, as per HP documentation.

However can you please explain why when one of the Data Cente AC Feeds fails that we loose Blades 1 - 4 or Blades 5 - 8

If we had Standard Blade enclousers this would be no problem so why would I need an enhanced Server Blade Enclouse when this cause us more problems, We have even been out and purchased a further 3U Power Supply to solve as we feed 2 x A and 2 x B Feeds in to the Daul Power Input Kit.

Do we need to Serial in to the Power supply enclosure Service Port and Make Changes?

Thanks!

Re: HP Blade AC redundancy issue.

Model of servers used and how many of them ?
Firmware for enclosure?
Voltage for power feeding?
Does any feeding goes from local UPS? Or from same segment?
Load balancing cable Installed?
What readings you have at Primary enclosure for Main and Redundancy ? from service Port
(primary second enclosure from bottom)

No changed can be done from service Port, except serial number
