HP DL 380 G4 able to support 10 GB Memory ?

Hi All,

I am experiencing problem to upgrade a DL380 G4 with existing 4GB to new 10GB.
The old memory population was 1x2GB-Kit,2x1GB-Kit.
The new memory population: 2x4GB-Kit,1x2GB-Kit.
I am able to boot with the 2x4GB-Kit but as soon I install the 2GB-Kit the Memory LED flashes red with a noisy "beep". The front panel show a red LED as well and therefore the server does not boot.
Bios upgrade to revision 04/26/2006 was unsuccessfully as well.
...I can not found any hints about the max of memory supported by the DL380 G4

...ANY Idea

You mean 3 DIMMs ?? DIMM HAS to be in pairs;

hence for 10 GB use 2x4GB, 2x1GB kit;

Try updating BIOS with MINIMUM memory;

Hi James,

Regarding the memory population:
- 2 times 4GB Kit "375004-B21" (two pairs) Bank 1-4
- 1 time 2GB Kit "343056-B21"(one pair) Bank 5-6
- 1 time 1GB Kit "343055-B21"(one pair) SPARE

BIOS:
Latest version 04/26/2006

Referring the test, it seems that my system does not support more then 8GB ??
...or is the cause because of the two 4GB of 2-Rank Advanced "375004-B21" ?
