HP DL 380 G4 shut down after power blackout but don't restart

HP DL 380 G4 shut down  after power blackout but don't restart

When server is off if I try to switch on it not have POST e NO video input.

I have to remove power cable and waiting 24 hours or more after that the server start again and work correctly.

I think there is some battery that discharge.

I habe read this https://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/mostViewedDisplay/?sp4ts.oid=397634&spf_p.tpst=psiContentDisplay&spf_p.prp_psiContentDisplay=wsrp-navigationalState%3DdocId%253Dmmr_kc-0100595-9%257CdocLocale%253Den_US&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

It is possible to reset some capacitor instead of waiting a long time?

Thanks

Hi Nmichelli,

is it correct that the server didn´t come up after a power outage ?

No video, fans are running ? Did you has test a NVRAM reset or reduce the server to minmal config ?

This are the first steps to troubleshoot these kind of issue.

Please come around with the result.

Greetings

Hi Marcus,

I try to reset NVRAM but server don't start, fans run and the disk have a green led.

I noted I have to waiting some times and than the server restart.

For example this week end server is down without power cable and when I try to switch on it start and work.

Hi Nicola,

sorry for the very very late response.
Did you have done a minimal config with one cpu and 2 dimm´s in a pair ?

Also did you checked the IML log in ILO ?

Greetings

Marcus
