HP DL server => work silent

Hi

Is there a way to build a HP Proliant DL server that operates silently? As in no noise?

My office with a rack, is also my house, home to live in. And I need to replace my old ML350G3 server and DL360G3 server.

Thanks

Hell no, those small form factor fans are brutal and with density comes the need for vigorous cooling.

FWIW, I just rolled an ML350G5 out for a friend it their home and its virtually silent.

I don't know your compute power needs but that one is an option and its rack mountable with a kit.

Lol, I guess you missed the part where the OP states "that operates silently"?

Yo can try the "power management" option.
I think it's only available through the ILO.
this will reduce cpu-speed, and hence power and fan-speed when the system is not under high load.

for the rest, small fan's (1U server)tend to rotate faster and make more noise.
So other option is to seek a 5U server with "large" fan's (like the ML).
