HP DL160 Raid problem when installing rhel Linux

Hi

I'm installing rhel 4.6 on our new DL160 with 4 sata drives. I've built two raid 1 logical arrays and have spent nearly 7 hours waiting for them to be built.

The problem I'm experiencing is that when I begin the install and start to partition the disk, I'm not seeing the raid arrays, instead I'm seeing the individual drives.

I've double checked the arrays on bootup and they are all there and detected, so I'm absolutely unsure as to how the installer is able to pick up the individual disks.

Can someone please shed some light on this for me, as its driving me up the wall.

Thanks in advance
Dan

Re: HP DL160 Raid problem when installing rhel Linux

hi

are you loading the driver for the sata controller?
that's usually the issue the driver that comes with the OS is not handling the RAID implemented

I'm guessing you have the unit with the embedded SATA RAID controller.

If so you need this driver
