HP DL320e Gen8 V2 - Won't boot from Ubuntu Install DVD

Hello,

I'm trying to install ubuntu 14.04 LTS server (x64) to HP DL320e Gen8 V2 server. However, the server won't boot from the install DVD. Tried Booting to DVD, and intelligent provisioning (by selecting Red Hat)

The SATA controller mode is set to RAID (HP B120i) - also tried SATA ACHI, to no avail. The server would say:

- Attempting to boot from DVD...

- Loading bootlogo...

and the server would go into a color-cycling screen (sort of)

Is there any configuration that I need to change? Is there anything wrong with the configuration?

Thank you in advance,

Namo.

Hi,

B120i software RAID mode must either be disabled or switched to SATA AHCI support mode.

Try this:
1. Go into RBSU during POST.
2. Navigate to HP Smart Array B120i Raid Configuration.
3. Change to DISABLED.
4. Navigate to SATA Controller Options, Embedded SATA Configuration.
5. Change it to ENABLE SATA AHCI SUPPORT.

See the Ubuntu compatibility page.

May be try updating the BIOS of the server.

Thank You!
