HP DL360 G5 Bios Configuration for VMWare ESXi 3.5

Hi,

I'm installing ESXi in my new server, it has 1 Quad 2.5 and 4GB RAM.

Can anyone give me tips about the best Bios Configuration to optimize the performance.

Thanks.

hi

why do you think an special configuration in BIOS would help server performance ????

I think the tip would check that you have latest HP agents and ESXi properly configured

Perhaps enabling VT will help?

I believe enabling VT will only allow you to use 64-bit guests. If this is the case you may also wish to change your power management to static high performance, as there was an obscure article a colleague of mine found referencing issues with HPET and 64-bit OS's.

Hi,

I enabled VT, it's the only way to virtualize 64 OSs.

But I don├В┬┤t know if there are any other thing that could make the server works better.

Thanks

Hi,

You should disable serial and usb ports if possible. This will free IRQ`s and make your system faster.
