HP DL360 with RAID 5 drives

I have a pair of 36GB drives in my DL360 and I need to remove the RAID functionality from them as I need the space more than the redundancy. Is there a procedure to accomplish this without losing the data on the drive?

Re: HP DL360 with RAID 5 drives

Yes its called RAID level migration.

You can do that online, without loss of data.
I will strongly recommend to have a backup, before doing so.

You don't tell wich generation your DL360 is.
RAID 5 isn't possible on older DL360's, on the internal disk's, since there's only 2 disks.
So on the older machine you will go from RAID 1 to RAID 0 => No redundancy.

Some of the new Smart Array controllers require a write cache enabler to do the migration.
