I have the above server, with 2*300GB Drives in RAID1 arrangement.
I have two further 300Gb drives, that i want to use to make into a 4 drive RAID5.
Can i go direct from RAID1 to RAID5 using Expand Array, then Migrate RAID option in the ACU, or do i have to first take to RAID0 then expand to RAID5.
Thanks,
Steve

Solution
Yes you go directly.
You do need the BBWC.
Install disks physically.
Open ACU.
Add new disks to array (Expand Array).
Save.
It might take more than 1 day.
Select RAID level migration.
Choose new RAID level.
Save.
It might also take a long time.
You do get a lot of extra space.
If you operating system support it, you can extend the logical drive.
Choose extend logical drive.
Save.
More time.
Take a look at the acu user guide:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00729544/c00729544.pdf
And do ensure, that you got a good backup and emergency restore plan.

Re: HP DL360G6 - P410i inc BBWC, RAID1 to RAID5
I would not do RAID 5 for your OS or paging/swap file. Microsoft does not support RAID 5 for them. You could also hurt the performance of the OS on RAID 5. If you need more disk space do RAID 10.
