HP DL360G7 server rack mounting without skipping a gap between servers in 42U rack

Can we add 42 1U servers in a 42U server.

Will it create any electrostatic or damage any components of server like RAM, Ethernet port , motherboard, raid card etc by over heating.

What should be the ideal temperature I have to maintain if stack servers one above the other.

we maintain the lab temperature between 20 to 24 degrees .

To save lab rack space we are planning to stack 1U,2U and 3U servers one above the others .

What is the best practice to follow to mount servers without skipping a gap between servers ?

Re: HP DL360G7 server rack mounting without skipping a gap between servers in 42U rack

Hi

HP DL360 G7 is 1U Rack form factor (1.75"), less than 28 inches (70.5 cm) deep.

But as per the specification, If a third-party rack is used, observe the following additional requirements to ensure adequate airflow and to prevent damage to the equipment: Front and rear doors: If your 42U server rack includes closing front and rear doors, you must allow 830 square inches (5,350 sq cm) of hole evenly distributed from top to bottom to permit adequate airflow (equivalent to the required 64 percent open area for ventilation). Side: The clearance between the installed rack component and the side panels of the rack must be a minimum of 2.75 inches (7 cm).

Always use blanking panels to fill all remaining empty front panel U-spaces in the rack. This arrangement ensures proper airflow. Using a rack without blanking panels results in improper cooling that can lead to thermal damage.

Have your electrician run a #4 ground wire from the panel to every rack.  Connect rubber anti-static floor mats to them to dissipate static.
