HP DL380 G3 and Hardware virtualization

I had a question regarding HP DL380 G3 and Hardware virtualization .
I had installed the Vmware workstation 6.5 on HP dl 380 G3 and try to install ESX server under the vmware workstation but it didnt come up . I had followed the instruction from Vmware and some other web site . Then i had found out that HP dl 38 G3 doesn't meet the CPU requirement to run ESX under Workstation because it does not support Hardware virtualization.
I want to confrim with the HP is that right .
