HP DL380 G3 - read only BIOS

Hello IT,
i have one piece of this well working hardware, everything seems to be allright, ihave succefull installed Linux OS.

But there is something wrong with bios, because it's not possible change any bios value.

After entering to the BIOS utility (key F9 during boot proces) I choose for example (but that's no matter, every selection is "read only") OS selection item from menu, i want to choose linux but it's not possible hit enter key, simply ENTER is not working, only ESC.

I try iLO and of course HW keyboard, it's same problem, after upgrade bios to last version, same problem.

What is wrong? It's seems like "read-only-bios". Thx.

Hmm, check bios version - are you able to update / reflash it?

Hello,

I already update bios to the last available version from HP site, but problem still exists.

last version:
4.09 (P29-09/15/2004) (11 Oct 2004)

Maybe I can try downgrade bios to the older version, but I think it can't help.

theoretical idea: when I open server case, there are some dip switches on the main board(near cpu), is theoretically possible that some dip switch configuration switch bios settings to "read-only" or it's pure nonsense?!?

Check the system maintenance switch.

Switch 2, can be used for locking the setup.
Off = System config can be changed.
On= System config locked.

Default setting of maintenance switch is:
All switches off

Switch is located between the DIMM slots and the PCI riser slot.
Got 6 dip's
