HP DL380 G5 - Expansion riser card hotpluggable?
Hi,
We have some DL380 G5 servers and would like to install some add in NIC's to the expansion slots (PCI-X/E).
On previous generations there was a button allowing one to power down the bus whilst cards were inserted or removed. This button is not on the G5 riser cage.
Are these slots hot plug or would it be a bad idea (my gut feeling) to simply plug a card in whilst the machine is booted?
I cant find much information other than the riser cage part seems to be called "Non-Hot-Plug", is there a hot plug version of this part perhaps?
Any guidance would be much appreciated.. Thanks.
Andy.

Re: HP DL380 G5 - Expansion riser card hotpluggable?
Hi,
PCI-X/E riser have non-hot-plug slots only. No hot-plug expansion slots in DL380G5 at all.
BR, Oleg.
