Re: [HP DL380 G6] - The cache for Smart Array P410i is not configured

Hi,
It seems that the Cache is not configured.
Smart Array controller has Battery Backed Write Cache which can be configured to optimize read and write performance.
The size of cache can be divided into read and write opertions (for e.g. 50% read, 50% write ; 25% read, 75% write etc.)

You will find options to configure it in in the Array configuration utility
Select the controller and check the options (either by right clicking or on the right hand side frame),
you will surely figure out the option to configure the cache

Hi HPZweo,

I will suggest you to start with 50% Read and 50% Write
Later you can tweek it according to the read/write load.
Hope that will help

Re: [HP DL380 G6] - The cache for Smart Array P410i is not configured

Hi, I know this thread is over a year old, but does anybody know if the smart array percentage tuning can be done from OS level using hpasmcli or another OS level utility ??

or does it have to be done from the BIOS utility?

any advice would be great
