HP DL380 gen8 - Array Configuation Utiliy - No Raid 6 available

Hi Everyone,

I've just connected a HP D2600 storage device(12x2TB) to my DL380. I was hoping to configure a Raid 6 array but I don't have that option within the HP Array Configuration Utility on the server. The storage is connected to the server via a smart array p421 card which I've read supports Raid 6 configuration by default.

Does anyone have some advice on how to enable the Raid 6 functionality?

Is there a firmware update that needs to be applied?

RAID 6/60 is included on the P42x controllers, but only after a certain firmware revision (I think it's anything since version 4.68).

Check that you have at least 4.68 (the latest is 5.42 so you should really be using that anyway).

NOTE: HP Smart Array Advanced Pack (SAAP 2.0) is no longer required to
enable RAID 6 & 60 (Advanced Data Guarding). However, controller must be
in firmware version 4.68 (or later).
