HP DL380p Gen8 and PCIe SSD?

Hey,

We decided to by a new server.

I looked everywhere and couldn't find any solid answer to this:

Does HP DL380p Gen8 support PCIe SSD? Is there a capacity limit?

I'm thinking of Intel DC P3600 400G PCIe SSD (2x).

Does DL380p support this? Can I boot the server using PCIe?

Please Help

Thanks

Amir

Re: HP DL380p Gen8 and PCIe SSD?

Hi,

Does HP DL380p Gen8 support PCIe SSD?

Few HP Servers do support the following technologies:

HP I/O Accelerator Options and HP PCIe Workload Accelerator Options.  Refer to QuickSpecs link below.

http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c04128241

When we refer to this link at Intel:

http://ark.intel.com/products/80996/Intel-SSD-DC-P3600-Series-400GB-12-Height-PCIe-3_0-20nm-MLC#@compatibility

The compatibile server board's are S2600, where as DL380p Gen8 uses Intel C600 Series Chipset.

HP PCIe Workload Accelerators for ProLiant Servers - Overview

The HP PCIe Workload Accelerators are currently not supported as boot devices.

Cannot confirm if Intel DC P3600 400G PCIe SSD is compatible with HP Products.

Thank You!
