HP DL385 G6 fans running at max speed

Hello Forum,

I am running a CheckPoint R70.30 (latest) firewall on SecurePlatform (it is based on RedHat Enterprise Linux) with kernel version 2.6. Do you know which rpm shall I install to slow down the fans to normal speed?

Is it possible to download the rpms only?

KR, Laszlo

Fan speed is controlled by iLO2 and no software is needed to regulate this. You should check the System Management Homepage for status of the fans--one could be failed causing the others to spin up to max.

Hi.

There is an advisory for the proliant G6 platform that states that ilo2 1.80 can increase the fan speeds. upgrade ILO to 1.81 or later.
